ACTIVITY REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2009-10
1. In the year 2009-10 the Institute’s strength has increased from 28 to 51. The Institute has added Karond and Gondar Mau localities under our umbrella for reaching out to more children.
2. One of the students Mr. Raju Sharma has shown remarkable improvement at the Institute and is in a position to carry out a lot of activities which he couldn’t in the past. Two other students Mr. Anas Khan and Mr. Imran Khan have also shown considerable improvement as compared to other students at the Institute. The Institute is putting its best efforts to bring these three into the social mainstream at the earliest possible.
3. The Society has been successful in getting disability certificates from the government for all our students. They have also been registered under the Social Security Pension Scheme and shall be getting a monthly pension of Rs.500/- from the government.
4. The Society is in the process of getting health insurance cover for all the students and negotiations for the same are in the final stage.
5. The Institute has received a letter of intent from Reliable Charitable Social Welfare Society, Bhopal for offering their medical services to the students free of cost. For students with more serious health condition, the Institute has also approached LBS Hospital for providing subsidized medical care.
6. The Institute now has an additional special educator in the form of Mrs. Kanchan Dixit. A website for the Institute is being developed by Smriti Infotech, Bhopal and will be operational in a short while.
7. In wake of the decision of Allahabad High Court the Institute had put up banners and hoardings all over Bhopal appealing to the citizens to maintain peace and harmony. The message was also extended through handbills and newspaper advertisements.
8. Dr. Veerappa Moily, Union Minister of Law and Justice, government of India visited the Institute and met the children and special educators.
