ACTIVITY REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2014
2-01-2014: Celebrations to Welcome the New Year
Children expressed their happiness on the New Year through dances, songs and music. And also presented greeting cards which they had prepared to their teachers. Chocolates and sweets were distributed by the teachers among the children.
06-01-2014 to 09-01-2014: Sports Meet Organized
The Institute organized various sports competition between 6th and 9th January 2014. As a part of the sports meet, chair race, spoon race, jalebi race, 50 mtr race, badminton and carom competitions were held. Students participated in the sports competitions with full enthusiasm and won several prizes as well.15-01-2014 to 16-01-2014: Painting Competition Held
As a part of painting competition, thumb painting and thread painting events were held. Children exhibited their outstanding talent by drawing and painting trees, flowers, houses and animals.
26-01-2014 Republic Day Celebrations
Like every year, Republic Day was celebrated in the Institute with lots of enthusiasm and fervor this year as well.
18-02-2014 Swachhta Abhiyan
Children of the institute were made aware of the importance of hygiene and cleanliness. They were also taught about the various diseases caused by unclean surroundings and the impact of increasing waste on our environment.
15-03-2014 Holi Celebrations
The festival of colours was celebrated at the Institute with a lot of fun and enthusiasm. Children played with organic colours and gulaal. They were also taught the importance of conservation of water by using dry colors in Holi celebrations.
03-07-2014 Start of New Session
The academic session for the year 2014-15 was started with distribution of sweets and chocolates to the students who were welcomed by the staff with a round of applause.
07- 07 -2014 to 11-07 -2014 Survey Programme
A survey was carried out during this period to identify children in the Karond, Abbas Nagar and Gandhi Nagar areas with disabilities and to categorize their nature of disability.
14- 07- 2017 Parents Teacher Meeting
A parents teacher meet was organized at the Institute. The meet gave the teachers and parents a chance to interact and share with each other their problems and probable solutions. They agreed that the teachers as well as the parents had their respective roles to play in the proper development of the children.
16-07-2014 Distribution of Educational Material
Educational material was distributed to the children according to their ability. The material distributed included pen, pencil, eraser, sharpener, copies, books, sketch books, threads, fevicol, colours (fabric as well as poster) along with material used for embroidery.
18-07-2014 Distribution of School Uniform
As part of the start of the new session, school uniform was distributed to the students of the Institute.
06-08-2014 Rakhi Making Workshop
As a part of the Rakshabandan celebrations, a rakhi making workshop was organized in which the students were taught how to make rakhis. They were provided with colourful material including beads, threads, glitter and other bright and multi-coloured material to make rakhis.
13 and 14-08-14 Greeting Card Making & Drawing Competition
Greeting card making and drawing competition was held at the Institute. The remarkable talent of the children in terms of creativity and colour coordination was witnessed during this competition. Children made beautiful greeting cards with various motifs including flowers, motifs, designs, national flag and animals in the competition.
15-08-2014 Independence Day Celebrations
Independence Day Celebrations were held at the Institute with a lot of patriotism and passion. Flag hoisting was done and the children sang patriotic songs. Sweets and gifts were distributed to the students on this occasion.
05-09-2014 Teacher’s Day Celebrations
Teacher’s Day was celebrated at the Institute by the students and the staff with reverence and delight. Children showed their respect towards their teachers by presenting them with handmade greeting cards and presenting a colourful song and dance extravaganza on the occasion.
11-09-2014 Composite Rehabilitation Center Visit for Assessment
Children were taken to CRC to for annual assessment.
22-09-2014 Birthday Celebration of Justice Tankha Ji
The birthday celebration of Late Shri Tankha was celebrated at the Institute. The children were distributed sweets, fruits and gifts on this occasion.
29-09-2014 CRC Visit
The second round of assessment of the students at CRC was carried out.
02-10-2014 Gandhi Jayanti
The birthday of father of the nation was celebrated at the Institute. Children recited poems dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion. Sweets and fruits were distributed as well.
10-10-2014 Warm Clothes Distribution
Warm clothes were distributed to the students in preparation for the approaching winter season.
23-10-2014 Diwali Celebrations (Diya Making Workshop)
As part of the Diwali celebrations, a diya making workshop was organized at the Institute. Children were provided with clay, paints and other material for making diyas. Colourful diyas of all sizes were made by the children in the workshop.
28-10-2014 Railway Concession Renewal
Renewal of Railway concession pass of the students was carried out by the staff of the Institute for making train travel easier and affordable for them.
13-11-2014 to 16-11-2014 Jabalpur Mandla Tour
Jabalpur – Mandla trip was organized as part of the annual meet of all the Institutes being run in the name of Late Justice R K Tankha. This year the parents of the children were also included in the trip. As a part of the trip the children and their parents also visited the famous Kanha National Park.
03-12-2014 World Disability Day
Several events were organized at the Institute to mark World Disability Day including sports competition and painting competition. The sports included cricket, badminton and carom. Children gave shape to their creativity in the form of vivid and colorful pictures in the painting competition.
10-12-2014 to 18-12-2014 Winter Sports Meet
Winter Sports Meet was organized in the Institute in which all the students participated enthusiastically. There were various interesting races to accentuate the interest of students in sports. Winners were distributed prizes and fruits were distributed to all the children.
22-12-2014 Christmas Day Celebrations
Christmas was celebrated at the institute in which a Cristmas tree was put up and one of the children was dressed as Santa Claus. Children were distributed gifts and sweets and were introduced to the life of Jesus Christ and his message.
