ACTIVITY REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2017
05-01-2017 : New Year Celebrations
New Year celebrations took place at the Institute with the children along with the staff singing songs and wishing the best for each other. Like every year, they made a new year resolution to improve their efforts in life and be exemplary and worthy citizens of this great nation.
10-01-2017 to 15-01-2017: Cultural Activities
The Institute organized a series of cultural activities for the children including dancing and singing. With the help and training from teachers, the students at the Institute presented new songs and dances that they have learned recently.
20-01-2017 to 23-01-2017: Sports Day Competitions
The Annual Sports Day competitions of the Institute were held The Institute organized various sports competition between 20th and 23rd January 2017. As a part of the sports meet, chair race, 50 meter dash, spoon and marble race, jalebi race, and other competitions were held. Students enthusiastically participated in these sports competitions prizes were distributed to them as well.
26-01-2017: Republic Day Celebrations
Like every year, this year as well, the Independence Day celebrations at the Institute were held with much fanfare. The Administrator of the Institute hoisted the national flag in the presence of members of the Society and parents of the students along with other guests. On this occasion, the students presented a colourful cultural program with patriotic songs and poems. Sweets and gifts were distributed on this occasion as well.
15-03-2017: Holi Celebrations
The wonderful and colourful festival of Holi was celebrated at the Institute like every year with a lot of fun and fervor. Holi was played with with organic colours and gulaal and the students were also given an insight into the importance of conservation of water by using dry colors and gulaal in Holi celebrations instead of water based ones.
03-07-2017: School Reopens
Summer Vacations
The new session of the school started on 3rd July 2017. The school opened with distribution of sweets and chocolates to the students who were welcomed by the staff with a round of applause.
10-07-2017: Distribution of Educational Kits & Study Material
To mark the start of the annual session, the students were given educational kits, books and copies along with stationery material.
3rd to 4th July 2017: Rakhi Making Workshop
A rakhi making workshop was organized at the Institute and the students were taught to make different types of colourful fancy Rakhis for Rakshabandhan. They wer also told about the importance of Rakhi in Indian culture and what it symbolises and signifies.
9th to 10th August 2017: Drawing Competition
Annual drawing and painting competition was held at the School. The enthusiasm and keenness showed by the children in participating in the competition was exemplary. The competition brought out the hidden talent in them and they drew beautiful trees, flowers, houses and the national flag.
14th August 2017: Prize Distribution for Drawing Competition
Students who had shown great talent and whose work was judged as the best in drawing competition held the previous week were distributed prizes.
15th August 2017: Independence Day Celebrations
Independence Day was celebrated at the Institute with patriotism and fervor. The Administrator of the Institute hoisted the national flag and the children sang patriotic songs. Sweets and gifts were distributed to the students on this occasion as well.
23rd September 2017: Birthday Celebrations of Late Justice Raj Krishna Tankha
The birthday of late Shri R K Tankha in whose memory the Institute is named was celebrated with much fondness at the Institute. The Institute was decorated with balloons and ribbons. A cake was also cut on this occasion. Sweets and fruits were distributed to the students on this occasion.
1st October 2017: International Day for Elderly People & World No Alcohol Day
The Department of Social Justice & Empowerment on the occasion of International Senior Citizen’s Day and World No Alcohol Day organized several programs..The students and staff of the Institute actively participated in these programs.
2nd October 2017: Gandhi Jayanti
Like every year, this year as well, Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated at the Institute by paying floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi. A lamp was lighted on the occasion as well. Students patriotic poems and songs based on the life of Gandhi Ji.
11th to 13th October 2017: Deepawali Parv
A three day workshop cum celebration was held at the Institute to mark the festival of lights. The students were taught to make greeting cards and colours dias on the occasion. 29th October 2017: Winter Games Winter games were held at T T Nagar Stadium were the students of the Institute participated enthusiastically.
14th November 2017: Children’s Day Celebrations
Children’s Day was celebrated at the Institute by fondly remembering Chachu Nehru on his birthday. Floral tributes were paid and a lamp lighted on the photograph of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. A dance and song competition was held on the occasion. Sweets and gifts were also distributed to the students.
3rd December 2017: World Disability Day
World Disability Day was observed at the Institute on 3rd December 2017. Sports competitions were help on this occasion and the students who won in the various competitions were distributed prizes. Sweets and fruits were also distributed to the students.
