ACTIVITY REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2018
1-01-2018: Welcoming the New Year
The students and staff of Justice Tankha Memorial Institute for Special Children celebrated the heralding of another new year through dances, songs and music. They also presented their teachers with greeting cards which they had prepared themselves. Fruits and sweets were distributed among the students and staff.
08-01-2018 to 12-01-2018: Annual Sports Meet
The Annual Sports Meet of the Institute was organized between 8th and 12th January 2018. The meet saw sports competition being held between the students and included chair race, spoon race, jalebi race, 50 mtr race, badminton and carom competition. Students participated in the sports meet with great enthusiasm and prizes were distributed to the winners as well.
22-01-2018: Drawing and Painting Competition
A drawing and painting competition was organized for the students at the Institute. Students enthusiastically participated in the event and the highlight of the event was block painting using vegetables. The students spread their creativity and talent on paper with colours and shades.
26-01-2018 Republic Day Celebrations
Like each year, this year as well Republic Day was celebrated in Justice Tankha Memorial Institute for Special with feeling of patriotism and national pride. Students. Winners of drawing & painting competition were given prizes as a part of the Republic Day Celebrations.
13-02-2018 Cleanliness Drive
The teachers at the Institute made the students the of keeping our surroundings clean and hygienic. They were also made aware of different diseases caused by unclean surroundings and the impact of increasing non-recyclable waste on our environment.
28-02-2018 Pre - Holi Celebrations
The students and staff of the Institute had a pre-Holi bash at the institute. Celebrations. Children applied organic colours and gulaal on each other. They also took blessings of their teachers.
02-07-2018 Start of New Academic Session
The academic session for the year 2018-19 was started with distribution of chocolates and fruits to the students. The students and teachers together prayed to the Almighty to grant them knowledge for the betterment of the world.
09- 07 -2018 to 13-07 -2018 Survey
A survey was carried out during this period to identify special children in the Gandhi Nagar, Abbas Nagar, Khanugaon and Karond areas and to determine their nature of disability.
18-07-2018 Distribution of Educational Material & Uniform
Teachers at the Institute distributed books and stationery to the students. The stationery included pencils, erasers, crayons, and copies, books and sketch books. Some students were also provided material for embroidery. The students were also given new uniform for the session.
10-08-2018 Drawing & Painting Competition
A Drawing & Painting Competition was held at the Institute during the Independence Day – Week Celebrations. The wonderful talent of the children in terms of creativity and color coordination was witnessed during this competition. Children made beautiful drawings and paintings including flowers, motifs, designs, national flag and animals in the competition.
15-08-2018 Independence Day Celebrations
Independence Day Celebrations were held at the Institute with a lot of patriotism and passion. Flag hoisting was done and the children sang patriotic songs. Sweets and gifts were distributed to the students on this occasion.
05-09-2018 Teacher’s Day Celebrations
Teacher’s Day was celebrated at the Institute by the students with enthusiasm and respect for their teachers. Children showed their reverence for their teachers by presenting them with handmade greeting cards and presenting a colorful song and dance sequence on the occasion.
22-09-2018 Birthday Celebration of Late Justice Rajkrishna Tankha Ji
The birthday celebration of Late Shri Rajkrishna Tankha was celebrated at the Institute with reverence and respect. The children were distributed sweets, fruits and gifts on this occasion.
28-09-2018 Composite Rehabilitation Center Visit for Assessment
Children were taken to CRC to for annual assessment.
02-10-2018 Gandhi Jayanti
The birthday of father of the nation was celebrated at the Institute. Children recited poems dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion and fruits and sweets were distributed to the students and staff.
29-10-2018 Diya Making
As part of the Diwali celebrations this year as well, a diya making workshop was organized at the Institute. Children were provided with clay, paints and other material for making diyas. Colourful diyas of all sizes were made by the children in the workshop.
03-12-2018 World Disability Day
Several events were organized at the Institute to mark World Disability Day including sports competition and singing competition. The sports included cricket, badminton and carom.
17-12-2018 to 19-12-2018 Winter Sports Meet
The yearly Winter Sports Meet was organized in the Institute between 17th and 19th December 2018. The students participated enthusiastically in the sports meet. There were different type of races and competitions. Winners were distributed prizes and sweets.
20-12-2018 Christmas Celebrations
The festival of Christmas was also celebrated at the institute this year as well. A small Christmas tree was put up and students were made aware of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Children were distributed gifts and sweets by the teachers.
