ACTIVITY REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2020

01-07-2019: Start of New Session

The new session of the school started on 1st July 2019. The new annual session of the school started with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm and the students were welcomed back in the School after their summer vacations.

02-07-2019 to 20-07-2019: Survey

A survey was carried out in the various localities around the Institute to identify specially-abled children for early intervention so as to provide them all the necessary help and support for their integration in the social mainstream.

15th August 2019: Independence Day Celebrations

Independence Day was celebrated at the Institute with nationalism and national pride. The teachers and students of the Institute hoisted the national flag and patriotic songs were sung. The teachers distributed gifts and sweets to the students to mark the Independence Day.

5th September 2019: Teacher’s Day Celebrations

The birthday of Dr. S Radhakrishnan which is celebrated as Teacher’s Day throughout the country was celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm and reverence at the Institute. The teachers were honored on this occasion for their services and dedication.

21st September 2019: Birthday Celebrations of Late Justice Raj Krishna Tankha

The birthday of late Shri R K Tankha in whose memory the Institute is named was celebrated at the Institute. A cake was cut on this occasion and sweets and fruits were distributed to the students.

1st October 2019: International Day for the Elderly

The Institute organized a special function to mark the International Day for the Elderly. Senior citizens were honoured on this occasion and they shared their life stories with the students.

2nd October 2019: Gandhi Jayanti

Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated at the Institute by paying heartfelt tributes to Mahatma Gandhi to mark his birthday. His life and messages were remembered and the students took a pledge to keep the city and nation clean and to make it free from all sorts of intoxicants.

5th October to 12th October 2019: Swatchhta Abhiyan Saptaah

As per the policy of Madhya Pradesh Government Swatchhta Abhiyaan week was organized by the Institute. During this period the Institute approached the residents of Gondd Basti, Gandhi Nagar and gave them the message of cleanliness and hygiene.

24th and 25th October 2019: Diwali Celebrations

Diwali celebrations were held at the Institute with a lot of fanfare. Students of the Institute made beautiful Rangolis and burst crackers under the supervision of the Institute staff. Sweets and fruits were also distributed to the students on this occasion.

5th November 2019: On 5th October 2019 the staff of the Institute went to the Nagar Nigam Office and got the Samagr Id of all the students of the Institute certified so that the pension that is given to them by the government would continue in the future.

14th November 2019: Children’s Day

The birthday of late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was celebrated by the teachers and students of the Institute as Children’s Day. Several sports events and competitions were organized on this occasion in which the students participated with a lot of enthusiasm and zeal.

11th December 2019: Welcoming Winters

The Institute welcomed winters by distributing sweaters and woollen clothes to students. International Hockey Umpire Mr. Shakeel Qureshi was the Chief Guest on this occasion. He appreciated the efforts of the Institute in the field of disability and shared his life experiences with the students and staff.

12th December 2019: Health Check Up

The final year students of R.D. Memorial Nursing College students visited the Institute and carried out free health check up of the students.

2nd January 2020: New Year Celebrations

The students and staff of the Institute celebrated the New Year by pledging to focus their efforts and resources for the development and progress of the nation.

26th January 2020: Republic Day Celebrations

Independence Day celebrations at the Institute were conducted with much fanfare. The national flag was hoisted in the presence of members of the Society and parents of the students along with other guests. The students presented colourful program filled with songs and poems filled with patriotism and love for the nation. Gifts and sweets were also distributed on the occasion.
